Aix-en-Provence Town Village
Ai-en-Provence is a city of
activity, light and art. It is located in France
on the Cote dŽazur - french
riviera . Aix-en-Provence also has some schools of arts and severla
universities, some of them are American. TownŽs sparkling atmosphere is
attracting young people.
Aix is not only modern,but
also ancient town. Celtic Ligurian capital in 3rd century BC was before
foundation of Aix in 122BC known as Aquae Sextiae. Old town of Aix
is current center which is surrounded by boulevards and squares. This area
is small so can be explored by foot, but there are more things to
see. The ancient Aix had wall with 39 towers. Today there are only few
towers left.
The "Semaine des Spectacles"
stands for a weekly guide which is available at newsstands. It is released
every Wednesday, and lists everything what's going on in the villages and towns of
province Provence and the Côte d'Azur - French Riviera (also including
Aix-en-Provence, Cannes and Nice). It presents restaurants, nightclubs,
museums, movies or other diversions.
"La Semaine" is well known weekly guide for Aix, it is available for free
at the Office de Tourisme. It contains an expositions calendar.
