Buick Riviera

The Buick Riviera is a car which was produced by an automobile manufacturer Buick in the USA from the year 1963 to the year 1999.
It was a full size coupe (see picture below) or we can say it was a personal luxury car. Its early models were highly praised by automotive writers and journalists.

It was back in the 1949 when the name Riviera entered the Buick model line for their new 2 door pillarless hardtop which was used for the first production of such a body style and became very popular in the next thirdy yeras. 
After 1955 GM offered a 4 dour pillarless hardtop too and the Riviera design was also applied to those new models of cars.
In the next few following years was the Riviera body model offered on all model lines of the Buick.  That included models like Buick Century, Special and Roadmaster. 

However, the name Riviera was usually not added on the car since it was a body style. The last time the name Riviera was used was in 1963 for the designation of the Riviera Electra 225 4 door hardtop.
