Paris

Paris is the well know capital city of the French Republic (France). It is located in the northern France, on the Seine river at the Ile de France region´s heart. There are about 2,2 million of citizens in Paris. (est. 2005) and about 9,93 million of people in the urban area of Paris. 

It is France´s economic activity centre and produces more than 1/4 of the GDP of France. 
It hosts head offices of the majority of the French companies and headquartes of 10 of the 100 bigest worldwide companies.

Paris is also a host for many important international organizations like the OECD, UNESCO, the ICC or even Paris Club. 

It is considered to be 1 of four major world´s cities!

The city is strategicaly located at a junction of land/river trading routes. 

Paris has plenty of royal palaces, abbeys and many cathedrals and so there is no doubt that by the twelve century it became one of European bigger learning and arts centre.

Also these days it is of big influence and a centre for fashion, art, science, business and politics.

It is also an important centre of the transportation, home and international and also intercontinental. 

There are many universities, some of them are very prominent, sport events, museums, operas, cultural events etc.

That makes this city very popular and attractive for over 30 mil. visitors from foreign countries each year.
