St. Tropez (Saint Tropez) Museums
Annonciade Museum This
museum is the reminder that this area was a very active center of the
pictorial avantgarde thanks to Paul Signac. He was sailing his yacht
Olympia in 1892 and discovered a little port. He fell in love with the
area so much that he bought a home and turmed it into his new studio. He
used to invited many artists there: Matisse, Derain, Cross or Marquet. The
collections displayed here are made of first class paintings which are
from pointillist, nabis and fauvist periods. The
Chapel of Notre-Dame de l'Annonciade is from the year 1568. The chapel
served for lay purposes during the Revolution. Opening
